AL-WASAṬIYYAH upholds the principles of academic honesty and intellectual integrity and maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and fabrication or falsification of data.

To ensure the originality of all submitted work, every manuscript undergoes an initial plagiarism screening using Turnitin software before being sent for peer review. This screening includes checks for:

  • Verbatim copying from previously published works without citation
  • Improper paraphrasing
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing significant portions of the author's own previously published work without proper acknowledgment)
  • Unattributed use of ideas or data from other sources

If plagiarism or fabrication is detected at any stage—pre- or post-publication—the editorial board reserves the right to:

  • Reject the manuscript immediately
  • Retract a published article
  • Notify the author’s institution or funding body
  • Ban the author(s) from future submissions

Authors bear the full responsibility for the accuracy and originality of their submissions and are expected to:

  • Properly acknowledge all sources and references
  • Clearly distinguish between their own findings and existing literature
  • Avoid manipulation or fabrication of data or results
  • Declare if the manuscript shares any content with a thesis, preprint, or previously presented work

Fabrication, which includes making up data, sources, or results, is considered a serious academic offense and will result in automatic rejection or retraction if discovered after publication.

By submitting to AL-WASAṬIYYAH, authors affirm that their work is original, ethically sound, and in full compliance with international standards for responsible research and publication.
